I enlisted as active duty in the Marine Corps in 2006 right out of High School. I was drawn to the Marine Corps since it had the longest boot camp and aligned with my life goal to be as prepared as possible for anything that I faced.
I was a 0651 (Data Network Specialist) and spent a year in Afghanistan in support of Operating Enduring Freedom. After returning from deployment, I became the non-commissioned officer in charge of our unit’s service desk.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the military and it was an honor to serve my country.
I enlisted in 2003 as a United States Marine. I was motivated to take my life in a new direction and to challenge myself to push my mind and body to the limit.
I originally signed on as an 0612 wireman and graduated at the head of my class and moved up to a 0614 switchboard operator. Once I made my way to the fleet I was moved to direct support with explosive Ordnance disposal team as their direct Gunner.
Along with expensive weapons training I learned about circuits and relays while assisting the EOD team for setting up disposal of IEDs and route clearance.
